It's a simple enough task....so I thought.
1) tank off
2) old battery out
3) new battery in
4) tank on
5) start engine
Everything was going fine until point 5). Ignition on , lights shining brightly but not a peep from the fuel pump and the usually whirring and clicking we have all become accustomed to , the starter button was dead and there were no signs of life
I check the fuses , rechecked the battery terminals were connected , fiddled with the key, scrached my and had a smoke but nothing helped......so I phoned MiGSel who immediately pointed me to the alarm system.
Indeed the remote activation on the alarm wasn't working so a quick reset of the alarm system with the override key and all was well again and the bike started. Removing the battery simply tells the alarm system to block the whole starting system .
Moral of this story is don't panic - if in doubt phone MiGSel
