Fitting swing arm to gearbox rubber gaiter - how?

I have rebuilt a fair few now and never seen one with a sealed outputshaft bearing ( some heve never been apart from the factory )...

A couple of post with clear pics from people who know what there doing :mmmm

Strange, I've re-built four boxes and they all had sealed bearings on the rear of the output shaft when I opened them up.

Also, if you follow the 'parts' link in Joerg's document you get this:

That is showing a '2RS' bearing on the rear of the output shaft - which is a closed one :nenau

Seems he's not taking his own advice.

I have used this list when ordering parts - which match what came out.

I don't suppose it matters much in reality, but I'm curious as to where the discrepancies originated.

Another one of life's little mysteries.

Gaiter SAGA

Hi All,

Just a qhuick update on my tribulation of fitting a new gaiter. I received another gaiter yesterday from Motobins and fitted it today with out any trouble at all. Rob from Motobins made sure the one they sent me was from lder stock and there was indeed a difference in the moulded shape and the rubber composition which could be felt easily. It felt more like rubber and less like silicone if you know what I mean.

It is almost all back together again only a few odds and ends to fit to complete.

Thanks again for the input. Oh and heating the gaiter before fitting certainly makes a difference too.

Thanks

Archie
