After spending the rainy afternoon fitting my H+B bars (Thank you Simon for the fools guide),

I turned to the Datatag and got off to a fine start:

BUT, just wondering if any of you fitted your own and therefore where did you place the Transponders. There should be in each wheel (this will require tyre removal) and then one in the frame. If any of you bright sparks could direct me to the nearest hole in the frame to drop it in I would appreciate it or is it a matter of sticking it some where out of harms way (under tank somewhere?)

Also seem to have a few ID markers left over, did you use all yours when doing it and just for good measure will the paint stick to the engine/gear box?

Appreciate you help.

Cheers, Commuter

Before you go spending your hard earned on datatag check with plod and ask how many readers they have in the county, you may be surprised, in South Yorks they have 1 so datatag is not really any use at all, but they do have lots of Smartwater readers 'cos the forensic lab gives 'em to plod, so I went for Smartwater instead.

Fit the easy bits and leave the rest!! it's only ever worth it for the minor reduction in insurance costs.

To be honest if someone nicked my GS I wouldn't want it back anyway as it's bound to be damaged. So long as I can claim on the insurance who cares!! Just make sure your bikes valued at full cost.

I didn't bother with the bit in the tank or in the wheels, just stuck on the stickers, etched the mirrors etc. painted the blobs on and put a transponder in the seat. As far as the insurance co. are concerned its "Datatagged"
