Five things to hate about the 1300GS

This is just too easy...;-)))
Me as a BMW Boxer Fanboy I am not enthused about the less germanic looks but beauty is only skin deep and I am not a shallow man...BUT the tank should have been a gallon bigger and not a liter smaller...Deal breaker right there ! As for 15 hp/NM more great ! But why shorter stroke and taller gearing so up to 100 mph you feel nothing off the added power or the 1250 feels even a tad more powerful...And the valve train clatter louder than the exhaust...That definitely tops it off for me not even metioning the smaller bags, less comfortable rear seat and stupid linked to the front foot brake...THe radar box up front and Harley taillight are two points I definitely dont like but I could have lived with...BMW you have to do better for all the money you want for it...Bring on the R1350 or even better R1400GS...LOL Probably with a 15 liter tank to advertise even more weight savings...;-)))

After all his gloating it will be interesting to see if he does actually trade his 1200 in and gets the 1300.
i dont think money is an issue with him though
Didn't he get his Goldwing cheap after having it as a test bike and then buying it from the dealers?Maybe he'll do the same with this one.

So, IIUC you’ve had big problems with all your previous GS’s ?
yet you still go back to them !
Yes , I do as the bike thro its evolution has become a greater bike . Had the Multi V 4 for a break away but found it fast but hard work , nice bike but not as usable ad the GS . Plus I had issues with the Ducati as well . What does IICU mean ?

I told you so Stick...But you did not listen...LOL Back then the MS was the Best and the Pikes Peak even better...LOL 2.0 Italian sheet with chaindrive and a complicated V4 sounding worse than Kitchen mixers from Moulinex...;-))) But now the 1300GS has the same problems as Honda lawn movers sound better...Arsey will like to hear this...LOL

These fucking PCPs and the muppets that use them have ruined buying bikes for people that actually save up to buy a bike .
Their poor little GS is about to be out of warranty and the PCP is nearing its end .
How convenient to swap to the latest twat bike and take out a new PCP.
The fact that the new bike is £2000 more than the old bike means fuck all on monthly payments . Meanwhile , the rest of us that buy a bike rather than just rent it are loyally fucked .

Where PCPs aren’t a thing . So you buy a bike you can afford rather than rent one you can’t .
Unfortunately prices have risen anyway ….disproportionately to inflation.

Thank the scamdemic,C02 hoax, electrification, unaffordable energy prices and endless wars for it...Inflation is your friend as also high interest rates...Spend your money as long as it has more value than the paper it is printed on because the party is almost over...Can you say Titanic...LOL

There's an example here 4 years at 4000 miles pa which doesn't seem a lot of miles really. A 'basic' TE would cost about £12000 in finance/deposit payments and then hand it back/px or pay 11k to keep.

Just reading the terms depressed me as to the destruction of value. It's a 4- year contract with a 3-year BMW warranty... Hmmm...
But what I am not seeing in this thread is the expression of any enthusiasm for picking-up a post-PCP bike? Surely with low mileage, 3-4 year old GS models ought to be attractive? (or, are they not attractively priced by dealers, or is it that no-one sees a 3-4 year old BMW as having sufficient reliability?).

Sorry, Arsey - As OP you have every right to kick me over to a separate thread for these observations & questions. It's just bewildering that the volume of these used bikes ought to be something that less well-funded members, could be excited about but seem to not be.

Good point.
Very few of my mates still own GSs but the few that do always change every 2/3 years and I know for sure that one of them always swaps for a newer model before the warranty expires.
