Five things to hate about the 1300GS

I'm happy to watch videos from Neevesy and the Missenden Flyer. One will tell you if you can get your knee down, the other will give you some real world thoughts on bikes.

On my 2nd GS, absolutely no issues in time I have had them, both were new. 2020 & 2022. Never had PCP on a bike. The 2nd one came at such a good deal and the PX was very good. 16000 miles on 1st GS over 25 months, covid kept that down. Just on 10000 on 2022 one, would have been more but other issues intervened.
I have loved the GS experience. Never let me down, does all that I want it to.
On my 6th BMW bike now, and agree that the price rise over the last few years has pissed me off. I was really looking forward to the 1300, mainly the ride height thing.
The cost to change is more than I want to give to BMW, so I will wait and see if some deals appear when, or if the sales slow. BMW are milking the need at the moment.
Someone posted the sales figures for UK bikes for January & February recently. I cannot remember the exact number of 1300's but think it was around 160 for the 2 months. I thought, that's not a lot but will be interesting to see March' sales figures, and as they develop over the year.
Littleade is right in that the TE version is not what TE was before, having to spec it up more to get some stuff, not the fancy trinkets like 719 stuff
I watch a few review videos and take each one for what they are. Some get watched right through, some fast forwarded, some get canned within a minute or 2
I know my next bike will be of an adventure / tour type and after looking into the Tracer that Arsey got, I would definitely have to try one.

PS - Tried the KTM 1290 SAS and the Triumph 1200 Explorer but not for me

Im still waiting for Padgets batley to contact me about their tracer 900 gt demo bike for a test ride, took all my details, glad i went elsewhere and bought the 1300 with that sort of attitude, bmw are the best as far as im concerned.

I find myself fast forwarding most youtube reviews. I do like that big rock moto guy, an american i dont find irritating!

A leading authortity ???

I have no idea why peoplve give so much credence to Youtubers. They're just narcissists ... And generally qualified and experienced in nothing but video editing.
Christ, you never know one of 'em could be that Boxerknob........that explains a lot !

The Tracer is not even close to a GS…The engine sits high and feels lame and you dont have the package of TL - Boxer - driveshaft which makes the GS the unique bike it is ! In black it even looks good.Of course price is high but look at the idiots running the show who have caused high energy prices and thus inflation…Hint , its not Putins fault and BMW neither.People with brains know what I mean.As for BMW they can , should and hopefully finetune it and then everyone will be happy…Option 724 instead of 719 for the tank as in 24 liters…A real taillight that looks good and does not confuse drivers of cages.80 mm stroke / 1400 cc to make sure roll-on beats the 1250 at speeds below 💯…And the disconnect of the brake pedal from the front to save you from embarra$$ing tipovers while performing U-turns on the friction point ! That would be close to perfect considering the M1300GS could top it all with the XR treatment for street only riders👍And I forgot for the Wankmeister himself back lid switches so he can find horn & blinker at night…🤣

And for the Youtubers some car reviews are entertaining I will say but the motorcycle guys are more than boring and they are mostly “presstitutes” out to get some clicks saying nice things wanting to get somefreebees and not de-moneytized by jootube…Same is true for the so called professionals who “test” the bikes…Unfortunately !

I actually like the new GS and would not buy another bike but not enough to trade in the 1250 yet..😉 I think I actually start to warm up to the looks as long as it is Triple Black ! I get to ride it when it finally stops snowing here in CA as global warming has become a pipedream…🤣 And my dealer has to break it in first and is waiting for a topcase that stays on top in order to finally conduct the top speed with bags test to see if she finally is willing and holds still…😉 5 points I dont like ; Too cheap , 19 liters as 12 would have been better to advertise 5 kilos more weight savings , lithium battery that will be 3 times as expensive and wont hold a charge when cold as I rather carry 3 kilos more weight , foot brake that activates the front not good for obvious reasons as also the missing taillight and the 20 pound pre-muffler they should have left off…🤣I forgot the 3 mm shorter stroke they add in 2028 to give us the 1350 GS and then another 3 mm to give us the all new R1400GS in 2033…🤣👍

I have just bought a 1300 after a decent test ride. Like my (linked brake equipped) RT, I can easily do feet up U turns by dragging the rear brake.

Of course you can do an easy U turn by dragging the rear brake on your RT as I can on my 1250 because it does not apply the front brakes as it does on the 1300 except if you put it in Enduro Pro mode…

Don’t say that, or boxerknob will have one less reason to buy a 1300gs……

He will just keep making the same comments again and again, and again, including the linked brakes….even tho he has never ridden one!

I’ve got him muted so the fun is trying to work what he has said based only what the replies are!
