Fixing a slow leak

You're probably on your way to Spain by now

But my immediate thought is, don't try and drill it. The simple reason being, you have no idea of the trajectory of that thing thing into the tyre, so the chances of making a new hole are highly possible...

Depending on where it is (hopefully in the tread rather than a gap) maybe you can excavate around the wire a little. Maybe it's a bigger thing than it looks due to wear and there's more of it under the surface. This way you might be able to pull it out and see which way it's pointing into the tyre. Maybe then a chance to drill it

Failing all that, a squirt of a tyre sealer might be your best option...

I’m on the Ferry.
While waiting at the port (cold tyres) I measured again and it didn’t lose any pressure from this morning/yesterday + todays’s trip.
Did most of the trip on the A3 between 90 to 100 as it was freezing cold and I was in a rush to get there.

36 hours on the ferry, let’s see what happens when I pick it up from the garage. :D

Run it until it's worn out. You sound like you are a regular checker. It isn't going to go bang is it. I noticed a screw in my rear tyre while on Tour in Scotland with some mates. I was happy to leave and do regular checks until it was convient to get it fixed. I was overruled and a mushroom was inserted. Next day, in the middle of nowhere I had a rapid deflation, as the mushroom had popped out. After much more fixing and re-inflating with cannisters, I got to a tyreshop who wouldn't repair it because it had had a roadside repair. Wasn't happy as the tyre had only done 500 miles.
I always use rat tail sticky string plugs..never had one fail (just cursed myself) one in the rear tyre of the GS for the last 3000 miles or so :)
