Since the demise of Sugru, I spotted these and have used them a few times to repair things.
- A battery clip on one of my booster packs broke and the repair is holding well against the strong spring.
- I dropped my Sena and it landed badly, breaking the retaining clip that holds it into its helmet mount. Again, it has bonded well and is holding it together nicely after cooling and profiling with a dremel.
The alternative was replacing both items which would have been in excess of £150, so I’m happy to recommend.

That's very nice. Good to know!

I recently bought some Sugru on Amazon (and got a few different colours as well :D ) to fix a damn TOSLINK socket:

I believe Sugru has been acquired by Tesa and they are keeping it in the market, but not 100% sure.

If you have sugru, store it in the fridge, it will help extend it's life considerably.

Although now all gone, I was once given a bag of it near it's expiry date by someone involved in the product, that was their advice, and I did use it for many years after that, though time did catch up with them eventually. Great stuff.

Moldable / hot water softening plastic has been around a while, how well does that stick to the repair? Any good?

I’d not seen it until this came up on Dragons Den, but it bonded very well in the applications I’ve used it for. It remains mouldable for a while but a heat gun soon softens it again and is helpful in giving a shiny finish if that’s what you want. I’ve also used it to revitalise threads in plastic by warming a small flake of Fixits into the thread and putting the screw in place while it cools.
