I bought the X-Lite 1003 in November at the bike show, complete with the BX5 fancy electronic ghizmo for Radio 2, Radio 4 and the telephone answering ability.....the helmet is actually very nice, more comfortable than the Schuberth it replaces (partners) BUT I have yet to be able to use the BX5 because the first one was totally goosed at the motherboard, they fitted a new one when I went to Kettering to HQ - I was going that way anyway.....it lasted about 30 minutes. It was working on the bench, by the time I came to go home from the workshop, the new, replacement had died as well. I am still waiting for the next consignment to come in for number 3. Hopefully this one will work - 3 months is a long time to have had something paid for and it not work. To be fair, they have been very good at TRYING to provide customer satisfaction, but the equipment has let them down.
Even with this experience. i wouldn't have anything from Scala ever again. I had a G4, again purely for the radio really. They have obsolescence built in and ZERO customer service. They really were, "we don't repair any. Buy a new one" when I went to see them about getting mine fixed. They actually expect you to upgrade every 2 years, so there are no spares available, other than from donor units, to be able get your kit fixed. Terrible company attitude. I would rather go without than deal with them again.
