Hi all

Ive had the bike for a few week now and starting to enjoy it apart from trying to manover at slow speed and its mass, However i dont really use the rear brake but im finding it hard to use as it seems to far towards the engine,
it does not look bent in or damaged,
if i try and use it i have to hunt and try to locate it and turn my foot in. as its not at the tip of my toes ? is this normal

ill try and take a pic later today

Do you walk like Carlie Chaplin? ;)
Pulling a leg, but toes habitually turned out will find the brake is too far in. You can get pedal extenders and some models have a pedal height adjuster that swings down.
The back brake however is always applied by the linked braking system. I hardly ever use the brake pedal, but my rear pads wear at almost as fast as the fronts.

Post a picture of yours, cause the brake pedal on the hexheads is ginormous.

I find the rear brake crucial for tight turns. With a bit of rear brake and clutch at biting point, full lock turns become a pleasure.

I must confess being new to GS's (picked bike up on Saturday) I find the rear brake is set far too high but I cant see any obvious ways to adjust it or the footrests.

And I find mine to be too low. I was planning to ask the dealer when I take it in for its first service.

What year? My '05 doesn't have linked brakes. The height adjuster is behind the heel plate, screw the rod that goes into the brake cylinder in or out to alter the point at which the brake works, then adjust the bolt that positions the pedal height.

The GSA pedal has a flick over height raiser so if adjustment isn't enough, you could swap the whole lever.

How do you get your bike that clean, jack930 ? I can never get mine looking like that. What do you use ?

Does the bike have abs would be a reasonable question to ask before assuming it has linked brakes. If no abs then no linked brakes.
