Seems ok, I suppose a little chaos initially . As long as I can still arrive in Italy for aperetivi.🍷

put back again - last time I looked it was going to be autumn 2024. Now "2025" although no specific date given. They have been kicking the can down the road since 2016.

Not sure if this is factual but I have heard that there is a lot of pushback from Schengen entry points, especially the smaller ones, about the cost of the infrastructure to enable this.

Fine for me but I can imagine a few on here will have problems, including those who are working as tour travelling "guides" or "managers" or perhaps pilots as this system does not appear to apply to them

Travel Purpose: The ETIAS is designed for tourism, business, transit, or medical purposes. It is not applicable for study or employment-related travel

Which, if true, puts the lie to the oft spouted ‘EUSSR’ nonsense.

The implementation has though been put back several times.

there is a different visa for those who will be resident in a country for study or a job if they are likely to exceed the 90 days in 6 months limit.

As usual the uk let's any murderers, thief's, etc etc in. More paperwork and cost for us and it will not stop the boat people.

Oh what joy… for those over 70 the ETIAS is free! I knew there was a benefit for being an old codger out there somewhere. :D

Not sure whether to bother renewing my UK passport, Irish one will be more use.

Such a shame, I was proud of it in the old days

Before the traitors fucked my country

Thank you for posting.
I'm hoping to travel to Europe in October so will be interested to say how/if this affects me as a Plastic Paddy travelling from the U.K..

That’s Piss boiling stuff mate….

This will be interesting to see, as I’ll be away in early October and come back a day after the ‘red tape’ is erected before me.

No doubt there will be plenty of bods shaking their heads and sucking their teeth, whilst shouting expletives at the autonomous device and looking like :anger

Brexit was an amazing idea backed by many a clevere folk  .
It’s a good job that I have my EU passport with indefinite right to remain in the UK and I am certainly not in any particular hurry to get my self a blue passport instead. As I get to enjoy the freedom on both sides of said ‘red tape’. Just a shame that there is a need to cross said ‘red tape’.

You as a faux Paddy (as the French might say) will be immune to all this shite. You enjoy free entry and exit to the UK, just as we do to Eire. You also enjoy free entry and exit to the other EU states, along with of course the other benefits (like the right to reside and work) which were all removed from us.

Your refusal to get a blue passport, will have you marked down as a bloody foreigner who has failed to integrate.
I is well proud to be a bloody foreigner, nobody can take that away from me. As for "Integrate", I do believe I've done a stellar job of that task.
