FOR ALL EES STUFF, QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, MOANS, JOYS AND ANYTHING ELSE

If you would please. I'm out 2nd June. Do you know if they are still holding the bikes back until most of the cars are off? - which really pisses me off.
Depends on the boat

On the eflexers from Portsmouth you are first off

From Plymouth you are last off as you are in the dungeon

As of this evening (Monday 04 May) the EES biometric thing is NOT active at the Chunnel at Folkestone. Nor will it be active tomorrow, Tuesday 05 May.

Q. What does not active mean, mate?

A. It means that it’s not being used, so the normal passport procedures are in place.

Q. When will it be active, mate?

A. I didn’t ask.

I only found this out when I called the Chunnel this evening to change the registration number of my vehicle. The very helpful lady on the phone told me, without me asking.
Allegedly, it’s not working very well. This is due to people with greasy sweaty mitts pressing down really hard on the fingerprint scanner and so leaving sweaty fingerprint marks. After a while the scanner can’t tell the old sweaty marks from the actual fingers on the scanner.

There’s always something.

My guess, it’s northerners, with chip fat fingers.

There’s precious little the EU does, that works very well in this regard. 🙄
Apart from ensure free and unfettered passage to aliens across multiple borders to the home counties.

When countries like Greece throw the baby out with the bathwater, you know things are grim. 🤣

Who would have thought it?......:blast

Guilty as charged - :beerjug:

I think Spain has suspended its introduction.

I came through Santan on 26th April.
Didnt get out of car but there was a large f off camers aside the customs officer.
Didnt stamp our passports and when I asked why not he said.
" Not needed any more"

Came through Santander headed to Portsmouth last Sunday. It was the same as our outbound journey- not a sniff of EES.

Daughter 1 flew from East mids to Kos with no problems all straight through;
Daughter 2 flew from Manchester to Poland; and it took over 3 hours to sort out;; this was last wk.

We crossed to Santander on 28/29th April. All but one of about a dozen or more border control booths open. Hand passports over for their scan, look at camera, fingers on fingerprint reader and done. Took about 2minutes per person so a bit but not much longer than it used to take.

We flew into Malaga a week or so back. The EES thing had is queuing for about 20 minutes ish.
The biggest cause of the slow progress was the morons in the queue just standing there when more that one of the machines was green and didn’t have someone stood in front of it.
Idiots!!

As we’d been through before in was very quick once it was our turn…and no, we didn’t have to go together because of separation anxiety/panic/etc.

Greece has confirmed that the British are officially exempt from the EES......They (wisely) don't want to piss us off.

Daughter 2 and only son on Crete/Kefalonia right now - Zero issues.

That's handy as off to kos in a few weeks

I'm sailing out Sunday 31st May if that's before you I'll report back.
Hi Doc, You possibly know that sailing times have changed as P&O have sent out emails, but I can't find out if check-in times have changed. It's always been 3pm Hull and 4pm Rotterdam. Can you let us know if timings have changed? Enjoy your trip.
