Yup. Great hotel . Probably my favourite of the three I've stayed in, in Castellane

I remember going down to the restaurant and being treated like royalty The food was great too. I was sitting inside and just finishing my first course when this music struck up - a live jazz band on the patio. Hmmm. Might have to alter the route later this year and head back there.

I did . We had a few beers and dinner.
He was riding alone . When you say ' the young chap' do you mean the guy on the Triumph 800 who chucked it down the road at 180kmh 2 days ago ? We met him and his mate from Spain as well

No Batts on the GS young as he thinks he is,dont no where he is at the present but it happened around 9 ish French time

Oh I see, sorry thought you meant the other guy we met who was YOUNG. So Batts dropped his bike ? Oh shit ! I saw him in the cafe for a coffee at breakfast and I left at 8.15 . He was going for a walk first so must have just left when it happened !

came off on diesel,apparently a lorry had an accident the day earlier and left its diesel all over the road the Gerdames were expecting an accident..! the bikes a mees but he says he's ok.? he'll know in the morning.!

Poor guy !!

We were both going up the Route Napoleon today . I'm in Lyon and he was heading to Chambery but obviously didn't get that far !
