Free luggage?

Hi,
i've just read on MCN that the free panniers available with all GS and GSA's bought before the end of Sept 09 includes top box and fixings, and free inner bags for the panniers?
Anyone else heard this, my local dealer is only supplying panniers and nothing else?
Are they being tight?

Nah, just the panniers as far as I know.

Anything over and above that will be down to your negotiating skills.

My 09 GSA came with the panniers but the salesman threw in a tank bag as well. I sometimes give out about B.M.W. but they always seem to know when a "sweetner" is needed !!

Cooper's Tunbridge Wells

I bought an SE in June with free panniers, didn't spec a top box as I had a Kappa that fits and did'nt think it worth paying for another. Jason threw the T/b in for free How could I say no. He said it was a local decision.

Now use the vario topbox in preference to my old box. Cooper;s give top service. Much better than Park Lane, who wern't that bothered.

Jus my 5p worth.

You tend to find the dealers who are offering to throw in the topbox as well are making you pay list price for the 'offer'

There are big discounts to be had on new bikes at the moment much more than the £300 or so the top box is worth. I recently bought a new GSA with premium pack for the price of a basic GSA and got free panniers so a total saving of around £1600

You tend to find the dealers who are offering to throw in the topbox as well are making you pay list price for the 'offer'

There are big discounts to be had on new bikes at the moment much more than the £300 or so the top box is worth. I recently bought a new GSA with premium pack for the price of a basic GSA and got free panniers so a total saving of around £1600

my deal is similar, got the free paniers, top box is at asking price, but the dealer has taken a few quid off of the asking price of the bike and new lid..also to cushion the blow a very good trade in on the old beemer..so i'm happy

According to the BMWMotorrad web site they are offering free panniers only CLick here and scroll down to "BMW Motorrad offers Complimentary panniers with alll new R1200 GS and Adventures". I am surprised that such a high quality publication as MCN could have made such a slip

Some dealers offer the topbox, some offer a free first service etc but they may not give such a good trade in, it's your choice but shop around.
The offer is going to be extended until the end of the year as well.

My new GS came with free panniers, topbox and 600mi service (but I paid for the oil). It kept me from buying another Triumph, and I wasn't really interested in the BMW lids (I picked up an Arai TourX elsewhere).

Good deal, I thought.

I take delivery this week of a new 1200GS with the free panniers.

Just for info though, my dealer did mention that they have now been advised by BMW that this offer will be extended beyond the 30th Sept.
