French Motorail help please.

We're planning to go to the South of France again in 2006 and are currently trying to find out information on the Fench Motorail Service from Calais. Has anyone actually used this service and if so what sort of costs were involved?
So far we can only find quotes in the region of £400 each way, which seems excessive, if anyone has any experience of this service we'd be grateful for your comments.

hi Beemer, over the years we have used French Motorail a number of times with cars and bikes. I now book dirtect through a French tavel agent in Sainte Maxime. They are agents for French Motorail and are extremely helpful.

Send them a fax telling them what you require - dates of travel departure station destination, number of people inthe party number of bikes and the type of sleeping accomodation you require. They will fax you back within a day or so. There is everything from couchettes to first class compartments. To give you some idea 4 of us travelled we tavelled one way from Toulon to Paris, first class with 4 x BMW bikes in May this year. It cost 261 Euros each.
