From 1200 GS-ADV AC,LC to 1250GS-ADV / my Verdict after 6000 miles

With a 150-160hp Boxer,Telever and shaftdrive BMW would have them all beat ! Modern sport tourers...
Wouldn’t be a GS then , just another high bhp pointless lemming
(Need to learn how to copy and paste , but you get the idea I hope )
Ps miss you boxerlust 👊😂😂

Nutty you see a lot of people who don't take their GS off-road but wanting a sportier street bike doing 17 inch wheel conversions and putting 320 mm rotors on the front to have better brakes, less gyro and being able to run sticky compound tires for track days or such. There is a big market for such a bike.Look at the S1000XR,Multistrada or 1290 KTM's . With a 150-160hp Boxer,Telever and shaftdrive BMW would have them all beat ! Modern sport tourers...
I'll keep much GSA for now because a big tank, additional comfort and 20 mm more ground clearance / quick handling are better than the occasional time you can go 140 with full luggage...Like Arsey said enjoy what you got as it is almost perfect...:D
But I still have dreams...;)
BMW should build this bike ( R1400XR with T-L ! ) instead of wasting their time, money& resources on 1800 cc Boxer powered Harley clones lurking around the corner...

You should try one of these

Less is more !!
Oh, hang on ....it’s not for sale in the US yet ! :-)

I don't want a Chinese made chain driven wheezy 790 KTM...:( I don't ride off-road !
Stick you should ride Mexico once. It's on big race track with good and bad pavement and great roads curvy and straight.Federales in V-6 turbocharged F150 pickups or 6.4 V-8 Dodge Challengers won't ticket but race you...:thumb2
A GS type bike with T-L front,a more stable geometry at 150 mph topspeed and 17 inch front wheel for quick handling and a torquey 135-1400 cc boxer that also has some Top-end and pulls hard all the way to 9000 rpm with 150-160 hp would not be pointless but the perfect weapon for the road...:thumby:
Hopefully someone from BMW listens that this bike would be better and a much bigger seller than even the S1000XR ! ( torquey Boxer,T-L % driveshaft )
Check out the new OZ wheeled / 320 mm brake rotor R1200/1250GS conversion on www.Alphatechnik.de for 3 grand - too bad they don't offer the big bore kit with an additional 20 hp for the boxer yet !

How do we get this bloke to fuck off for 3 months again?

The 790 is not made in China and it’s not wheezy.Suggest you ride one when they eventually land in your great country. Then you could have an informed opinion rather than spout preconceived bollox.
I think you’ll find a large part of your beloved GSA is made in China, and why not ? I’d rather ‘Made in China’ than “Made in USA”.

And can you try very very hard to make a post that doesn’t bang on about BMW fitting a fucking 17” fucking wheel to a fucking GS.
It ain’t going to happen as nobody wants it,apart from you.Just get over it and move on......:-)

Stick, I really wouldn’t bother riding Mexico. It’s shite and you will get ticketed by the most bent feds in the world.I think our little ‘Merkin friend has been making too much use of the legalised wacky baccy because he sure does spout some utter utter bullshit.

Well said :thumb:beerjug:

Made in China made be better today than made in Joo Es A but according to Stefan Pierer the 790 won't be made in india but china soon...:(
Keep them there like the taiwanese made engines in the F750/850 GS !
And yes nobody wants more power or 17 inch wheels on the GS that is why the 1254 sells so "poorly" and this forum is full of 17 inch wheel conversions threads...:D
And yes Mexico is utter shite for people who like to get ticketed for riding fast, rain, bad food, expensive hookers, unfriendly people...;)
Nick Sanders agrees with you that Mexico is bad that is why he and 18 chaps from England went riding there this month and people even payed for it...fools !
You guys crack me up...:thumb
Clueless but funny nevertheless...

Warlord I will fuck off now and go back to Mexico in November...:thumb2
Obviously they did not like Arsey there...:thumb
Too much freedom and lawlessness for him !
And maybe the food was too spicey for his weak bowels...:D

Anyone who pays to ride with Nick Sanders must be a fucking idiot :-).
And I only have one bowel, ta.
Do you Californians carry a spare seeing as one is always FULL OF SHIT ?

These english gentlemen I met in Loreto on mostly BMW's with big yellow plates seemed to have the times of their life despite having to pay Samders to follow them in a truck...:cool:We even drank a beer at the gas station while the strong arm of the law was watching...:beerjug:
They must have been idiots and full of shit like me...:D
I know we should have been on Afreeka Tweens in heavy English rain ditching speed cameras going faster than 112 Km/h...much more fun...;)

Yup, I’m sure they were !!!
And I don’t live in the UK and very rarely ride there either.
I am curious as to why you struggle with the spelling of ‘Africa’ and ‘Twin’. The ‘Africa’ bit I can understand as you probably couldn’t even find it on a map, like the majority of your brethren. But ‘twin’ is quite simple.Just like you :-)

But CONGRATS are in order. Your managed a WHOLE post without banging on about a fucking GSA 1400 with 17” fucking wheels !! Well done ! :-)

@ Mick; Thanks for posting this excellent video :thumb2
I also love the PST2 ! I ride them since they came out in 2015...But I will try the Conti Trail Attak 3 next which might be even better as in longer lasting...
To take the GS,Multistrada and 1290 KTM to the racetrack is a great idea !
The BMW 2nd only half a second behind the Ducati despite having 17 hp less (according to MOTORRADS dyno 153 vs 136 hp) speaks for the GS !
As also faster than the KTM despite having 19 hp less on top.If the KTM already wobbles without bags it is useless on the road with bags as it can't use the 155 hp.Might as well get an Afreeka Twin and call it a day...;)
Like I said the GS with 17 inch wheels and 20 hp more on top would be the ultimate weapon for the road as it already has monster torque and the T-L system that is so much better than forks especially on bad roads...:thumby:
Great video and fitting the subject - Thanks again for posting !

.
Of course keep the brake dive and suspension load separating Telelever, find a good balance between quick steering and 150mph topspeed stability with full bags and give us a "XR" option with light 17 inch CF wheels and lower superbike handlebar straight from the factory for people who use the GS never off-road but as a comfortable and practical sportbike...:beerjug:
Until then it is all good and hopefully BMW makes the 20 mm taller "sports suspension" a option for all GS colors except white and with the lighter alloy 19/17 inch wheels !

But I still dream of that R1400GS with 160hp/150nm 20 kilos lighter with 17 inch CF wheels and a lower superbike handlebar...:beerjug:

a slighty longer trail lighter 17 inch wheels to gain back quicker steering and a 150 Hp/Nm 1400 cc boxer could not fix....:bow
:

Still looking forward to the ultimate GS with 1400 cc boxer 150Hp/Nm lower handlebar , 17 inch CF wheels 450 lbs wet with 24 liters in the tank....:beerjug:
Until then the 1250 has to do...;)
