From track recording to route?

Hi

Can somebody tell me if I can change a track I recorded this morning from home to work can be saved as a route.

Also I seem to have great difficulty finding street that I can see on the map but try to do a search for them even if I narrow the search to a postcard my 2610 often dose not find streets, what am I doing wrong?
