Your standard bolts should be marked "88"
A4 stainless is the nearest
The bolts are used in sheer, so the actual tensile strength of the bolt is less of a question. So long as they will take the torque tightening setting, they should be OK.
I have A2 stainless in mine at the moment

so are you recommending, (or approving), that he replaces the original bolts and fits stainless bolts to his front discs?l

Taken into account all I've read so far A4 seems to be the way I'll go

There really is no gain using A4 on a bike.
A4 is more brittle than A2. I've always used A2. And all the kits i supply for the 1150 are A2.
