is it me or after riding for ten to fifteen minuites on a1200. that you end up sliding gradually towards the root of the tank. therefore the old gonads end up somewhat trapped in an very uncomfortable position trying to find the quickest way out of this situation(not good in traffic and 30 degrees c.)any one had same experiance with the seat arrangement/remedies?

could be the hien gerick goretex pants slippin`n`sliding?

Try this!

Lighten your load and reduce the pull of gravity. Perhaps Droopydick knows something about it.

It should only take a couple of minutes.

Or..... you could bungee your trousers to the luggage rack.

Skippy.

Couple of things to try:

Change the front height adjuster on the seat to the high position and the rear one to low. This tilts the seat back a bit - but there are dire warning in the handbook about not doing this! Mine's been like that for 6 months though :)

Also, you could try increasing the front suspension preload - I doubt this would make a huge difference but it will make the front of the bike sit slightly higher.

I have the same problem with the stock seat design, it also tilts your pelvis forwards so that after many hours in the saddle your lower back aches and you have pressure on you cocxyc (hope I spelled that right !!).

When I win the lottery, I'm having a reworked, made to measure seat built asap.

I did find with 2 weeks touring that my body soon adapted to the daily riding position and I felt less discomfort as I became 'Bike-fit' but the stock seat should be more comfortable on a bike costing 10 grand.

I think its a bit like different makes of helmet suit different people. I have always found BM saddles very comfortable (once they and I have bedded in) whereas others have never been able to get on with the standard seat.

Its luck of the draw whether it suits your particular shape, posture and riding style.

I agree - I spent a lot of time and money improving my 1150GS seat and seat comfort only improved when I dropped the pegs.
