Just bought a spare set of alloy wheels to fit on my 06 bike but the wheels are from a 10 plate. However I need to transfer my disc's and I remember reading a thread that the disc bolts are a different length on the later models can anyone confirm this and any advice would be appreciated

I know the disks have different mounts on them but unsure if you can use them. If you can't use the 10 plate disks id be interested in buying them from you for my spare set of wheels.

AFAIK you will need to use the discs from the same year of bike as yours, so fitting your 06 discs would seem the obvious answer. Later discs will fit but you will have problems with run out. Im doing the opposite at the moment, fitting Early alloys like yours to my 13 plate GSA. Hope that helps

There was a tread recently showing the disc offset is different between pre 08 and post 08 models.
I have an 08 Adventure with wires and a pair of later style 5 spoke alloys both have their own discs. They are completely interchangeable.

The later GS alloys and GSA wires weigh almost the same. The earlier 10 spoke alloys are lighter.

I have '10 alloys on my '04 model

Use your current discs and bolts (although some will recommend new bolts) and it will bolt straight on

Thanks for all the info. :D
Wheels are now on the bike although I didn't think the spindle bolt was going to come out.
