Front wheel bearing spacer question

Yes, it spreads the load between inner and outer races when pulling the bearing in. Once the inner race touches the spacer it will stop.
It means the bearing may not be seated to the full depth of its housing unlike the opposite side which is fully home.

Don't have a disc that size or anything to contact inner and outer races at the same time. I suppose the closest proxy then is to fit in small increments until inner race in firm contact with spacer, but not to seat outer race any more than that. Unless I can be bothered to make a disc of the right size, which I can't.
