Fuel cap won’t open

Yes, that's the same as the GS, nothing to do with the buttons on the remote key fob though.
It's within 2 minutes after switching the ignition off that you can just pull the flap up. After 2 minutes it's the double pull I mentioned, with the key in range.

Not sure what your point is.

You were talking about trying to use the buttons on the key fob to open the fuel cap but they don't have anything to do with the fuel cap. They are for the central locking of panniers\top box\steering lock.
 
I had this problem today. It was easily fixed by removing the two front bolts on the ring. On inspection the latch was indeed very stiff

I also realised how laughably easy it is actually to get in the fuel tank rendering the whole locking mechanism rather pointless.

My actual question: what is the best sort of lubricant to use on the mechanism?
