Hi to the all knowing.

Has anyone had any problems (leakage) with the quick (?) connectors/dis connectors on R1150 GS. I have a fuel leak in that area and thought that it was from the clamp coming slack, but watchiong it over a time it does appear to be coming from the connection itself.

Many thanks

probably just needs a new O ring :thumb

This might be a daft comment but are you sure you've made certain they've clipped together properly? Mine are forking stiff to connect them I'm sure I'm going to see a spurt of fuel when I next turn over the engine.

Last summer I saw a guy stranded on the side of the road. I pulled over to help. He had a fuel leak. A quick check showed his fuel connectors had parted ways. They simply hadn't been pushed together properly.

That said, Ian is probably closer to the prize than I.

If they are correctly connected you should be able to rotate the two halves of the connector. Worn O-rings are the most likely snag.

Leaking Fuel Connectors

Many thanks to the all knowing.

It looks like it is down to the old fuel additives causing wastage of the little 'O' rings. Who is a good source of replacement 'O' rings.

Once again many thanks

Motorworks or your local BM dealer

if the o rings are anything like the ones on the triumph 955i fuel connectors (connectors look the same to me) then you will end up paying a couple of quid EACH from a stealer where you can buy them from RS components and pay a couple for quid for 30- 50 and share them with your fellow tossers for pints / pats on the back.

Make sure you get the ones that don't get dissolved by petrol (vitron?)

here's the link to the ones i used on my triumph with no issues

rs part number - 129-038 (but of course these may not be the right size for the GS but its a starting point)

Vaseline when fitting works well

good luck
