Hi Guys wondering if you had any ideas on this.
Fuel gauge on dash when the tank is full it reads full. looses 3 bars than stays there, so I thought the fuel sensor had gon so bought a new one.
I fitted this over a week ago and thought it was just coincedence that the gauge read minus 3 bars same as the old one but thought ah thats where the petrol must be.
What with work and the like have not really been out on it but tonight I gets it out the garage and starts her up, yep gauge is reading minus 3 bars so all good.
I reset everything speed, mpg, etc etc and away I go, bike is reading 50.4 mpg, I am thinking great so far, miles left is 279, good me thinks, then it starts to rise, 280, then 288 and look at the petrol gauge and its rose 1 bar.
feck i think, I keep riding thinking with a few tight corners the fuel has moved around but no it is still reading now minus 2 bars. rides round a bit more and woohoo it drops a bar, so now reading minus 3 bars, and the miles left is reading 268, happy days im thinking so keep riding and yes you guessed is it rose another bar to minus 2 bars.
Feck feck feck i thinks.
so guys any ideas on what will be causing it to do this, its not the sensor so I am thinking its the actual computer on the dash.
I do not mind filling upo and setting the trip, did that all my time on bikes with sports bikes but its just annoying.
