Anybody know off the top of their heads what size the 'O' ring in the quick-fit fuel connectors on an 1150 adv are?

And even better where to get them from - Motobins don't stock them.

Suzuki GS550 Carb connection/link o-rings are also identical if a local Suzuki dealer is more conveniant? I will dig out the part number if you need it.

Yes please

Hello from Austria- The Suzuki number would be very useful, local BMW dealer can't supply the seals and getting small packets sent from the UK is a lottery-sometimes things take months to arrive! We have a very helpful Suzuki dealer nearby so if I have the part number I can order a few to keep in my toolbox in case anyone staying here has a problem.

Here you go:

13374-73000 O Ring.

They are a bit off a snug fit, but with mine I just ran a little fuel around the ring to lubricate and it slotted home ok.

Thanks

I will order a few and see what happens. We had a guy last year who had to wait two days while the local BMW dealer got him new connectors as they say they can't get just the O rings. Not much fun when you are on a biking holiday!

Thanks

That's quite bizarre - we went in to the same dealer in July last year and bought two 'O' rings over the counter without problem.:nenau

The failure of the 'O' rings on my mates bike on that occasion is the reason I decided to get some spares.

Motorworks and James Sherlocks sell them.
Off top of my head one was much cheaper than the other.
You're not wrong £0.59 at Sherlocks or £1.79 + vat at Motobins, they were less than that at the BMW dealers in Spittal a D.:nenau

Things change so quickly

I remember you getting them and was pleased that the problem was resolved. Just a few weeks later we had another failure, as I was going into town anyway I called into the dealers expecting to simply pick up the seals. I was told that they had stopped supplying them and that we would have to order a "repair kit" Two days later this arrived and was the complete connector. If I have seals here it will also save a journey and maybe some valuable riding time.

Maybe we bought the last ones :D
On the other hand it was easy to follow Andy down the road by following the petrol breadcrumb trail - if it got too hard we just dropped a match on the trail - then he was easy to find:D

Make sure you check the price of the Suzuki ones first. I bought my last lot almost 10 years ago!! The japs can charge quite a bit more than even BMW, and those from Sherlocks are a very good price. The part number is definately good though.
