fuel line quick disconnects

Every time I use mine I expect then to fail in some way. Is there any reason why one couldn`t use one of these and a couple of clips to enable the flow to be stopped for tank removal?

I use the QD fuel connectors as recommended in many posts here. If you're really worried about leaks while you're working on the machine then try these brake hose clamps - they work and don't damage the line:

If you have the bmw metal male sections they don't fail.
If you still have the plastic versions they will fail.

If you don't have Q/D's fitted and want to remove the tank without fuel pissing out then stick an 8mm bolt up into the fuel hose and tighten the clamp on it.

Use a washer on the top hose bolt and no washer on the bottom hose.... so you can remember which hose is top and bottom

Dead handy little dodge this ^

Done this for years with my 1100 after you posted it - except I put the washer on the bottom hose - the washer makes it heavier so it would be underneath
