I'm just about to fit some quick-disconnects to the fuel lines on my GS so taking of the tank is less of a hassle. They are BMW items (plastic female/metal male).

There's no indication of flow direction on the pieces themselves so I wondered if there is any particlar orientation for them. My plan is to fix the male component onto the tank side (meaning they will be part of the hoses that are on the tank when it's lifted off).

Grateful for any comments i.e. If my plan is the wrong way around!

Cheers

...one male and one female to the tank side..this way You will never mix them up.

Like that:

That's a good idea and I may just do this. I was planning to make the lengths different so mixing up was impossible but your suggestion seems most likely the best.

Cheers for the quick answer as I might do this today if the train holds off!

Or pop over and have a look at mine, male and female on opposite sides and it's impossible to mix them up :thumb2

This was the first thing I bought for the bike after taking the tank off, it's feckin nightmare without em'.
