Having something draining my battery so after some words of wisdom.

A far wild guess what is causing this is when turning ignition off, key out, the fuel oil module illuminate lights stay on (the module that reads the oil/fuel itself works when it wants too), which I assume is draining the battery.

I only noticed one evening having a brew outside and saw the lights on the display when I had parked the bike up and I'm guessing this is the cause.

Some things I've checked is removed the gauge and cleaned connectors. I'm cutting all cable ties and looking for anything suspect this evening.
I've checked the alternator and belt is good.
I guess I've got an unwanted earth somewhere, I thought I could remove a fuse and the display just won't work but that doesn't seem possible.

Any tips I'd be grateful to hear.

Check the large bunch of crimped earths in the main instrument loom. The loom is open at both ends, not sealed. And the crimped earths are at the curve in the loom where water gathers. Expect to find a lump of green mush (verdigris).

Thanks for the tip, so I went Into the Marsh (loom, nice!) disconnected all ties en route, and cleaned connectors, freed wires up, still no display but lights illuminated on the gauge.

So I disconnected the fuel/oil gauge wire and put back together so will see if the battery still goes flat for now until next time I have time to tear down, should be OK to use with this disconnected for now?
