Hi everyone,

I have just bought a 2010 GS Adventure today. I got half way home and ran out of fuel despite the computer telling me that I had 40 miles left. The warning light came on and it died a few secons later!

Is this a common problem?

So if this computer told you to ride it off beachy head to test the air brakes would you??

Welcome to the modern world of GS'ing:D

It's probably a case of the onboard computer not having enough data to calculate the remaining range due to the bike being very new. Put a few thousand miles on it, keeping an eye on fuel levels the old fashioned way before riding off any cliffs, sending death threats to your dealer, or declaring anything you can't fix with a hammer to be the work of the devil before retiring to your cave to bang rocks together. ;o)

opinions will differ on this but I have found the gauge/computer is never accurate unless doing it from a full tank. Course you might have had that and you live a fair bit away from your dealer.

Thanks for your replies. I was mainly concerned that the yellow warning light and fuel warning only came on about 100 meters before it came to a holt. I would have thought that it would at least give you 5 - 10 miles warning.

I have now filled it up and will be more causious when it starts to get low.

Go off the trip, I've had 3 fuel sensors in 6 months on mine, they are CRAP! :comfort
