Hello. I'm trying to make a by pass for a failed fuel pump controller and was wondering which wire from the connector (yellow or blue) goes to positive. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply kirby Morgan. I have seen this thread before, very informative but I can't find if the wires need to be positive or negative

Thanks for the kind offer but I just need to find the polarity. If its spliced to an optimate, one wire is going to + and the other is going to - , but which is which

The following info was taken from the www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk website for R1200GS bikes.

The connector running into the TOP of controller has three wires. Bare the right-hand and middle ones (and try not to slash the other in half as I did). Make an ‘eye’ in each of the cables to accept the splice.

Cut the two cables with the terminator block off the BOTTOM of the duff controller and splice as follows:
– the BLUE bottom cable into the BROWN top one
– the YELLOW bottom cable into the BLUE/GREEN top one.
Don’t cut the BLUE/RED wire as shown in the photo, that was a ‘slip up’!

Cover the connections well with insulating tape, plug the terminator block into its position and start engine!

This is the info I used to make a spare bypass plug, not splicing it as a get you home alternative.
