So there I was,(yesterday 12.35),at the Junction of the M62 and the M66,181 miles on the GPS,18 miles to go.Happy as a sandboy, sat idling at the lights, waiting for the lights to change. And the engine just.....stopped.And wouldn't go again.Pushed it across the road, rang Sawbridgeworth,Paul,(Service Fella),says check the fuses. So I do,and one is blown.I change it,and she fires up again, for a microsecond, and the fuse blows again.Cue BMW Assistance,(a 90 minute wait). Paul No 2 whips off the tank, and diagnoses a siezed,or shorting out, fuel pump.Despite being less than 6 miles from a Motorrad centre,no pump is available.......and a long wait on the hard shoulder for the recovery man.
I got home at 8.30 last night, with the bike on a Mondial recovery truck.
Moan,whinge......is this fuel pump problem a common one?.....
:(

Took Bike to Dealer myself in my van for 10.00am Tuesday morning.Service all busy so they would look at it as and when.No loan bike available.Rang Wednesday pm,as I was bored with waiting for news.Apparently pump is working fine,no fuses blow, and it can't be changed under warranty if it's working. But they're going to investigate....So I've no bike, and no idea when it'll be fixed.HoHum......if this is what Beemer ownership is like when the bike is less than 6 months old,I'm not looking forward to the future....Oh,and did I mention the faded patches on the anodised wheelrims, the graphics coming unstuck, glue coming through the seat cover, and a GPS with an unreadable display?.
I've got gritted teeth....maybe this should be in the RANT section.... :(

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!!!!...I've got me bike BACK!...just in time for the WEEKEND!!!...They fitted a new pump.so,(fingers crossed),all will be well....AND the lovely people at Sawbridgeworth have exchanged me faulty GPS for a new one...AND it came back nice and clean...AND they've taken pics of all the other MINOR irritants, and will deal with them as and when.... :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
