Fuel Pump

Warranty on my 12 runs out in June, 2 weeks before I go to a Rally in Rumania. Bit concerned about fuel pump just packing in? Spoke to tech about my concerns, his comment was take the plug cap off the fuel pump, unfasten the two torx screws of the sender or whatever he said it was called and look for corrosion damage. if not happy change under warranty if "ok" spray with corrosion inhibitor i.e. ACF 50 its not the pump that fails its the electronic cap. The warranty items about fuel pumps have been the seal around the cap leaking and causing a corrosion failure. Anybody done/looked at this?
