Fuel Pump?.......

F650GS....on a '03' Plate.....

Problem....Try to start bike, but won't fire up....

Battery new and tested as being fine....Spark Plug and HT (?) Lead tested and supposedly fine too....Electric lead thingies to Fuel pump tested and doing what electric lead thingies should be doing....AA man whacked the fuel pump several times 'cos he said it could 'stick', but no joy in starting engine.......he took Fuel Pump out and had me try to start bike and said it should be doing something, but it wasn't (whatever that was).. ...
So....what's the most likely cause of my not inconsiderable distress?

AA man says it's the Fuel Pump that is knacked and needs replacing....what do you lot reckon?....and if it is has anyone got a spare one that's just lying around??!!..........Jaq...x

Connect fuel pump directly to battery .. if the fuel pump 'works' you will feel it .. like an electric drill ... If it does not 'work' - reverse the connections to run it backwards .. sometime they eat something they cannot swallow .. so running it backwards will get it back out ..
