Just got my first GS its the 1150 2001, Could some one please tell me what sort of range I should get from a full tank ?.
And also the fuel warning light, should this come on when you have 2 or 3 bars on the gauge or when the bars have gone ? If its the first then mine is not working
Thanks

It all depends ...

... on which tank you have; but you'll get about 10 Miles/Litre so the standard tank gives you 230Miles but the reserve light should come on at about 180 leaving you a 5L reserve. These figures obviously vary depending on riding style and type of journey, but they are a reasonable benchmark.

An Adventure tank is 30L but the bike will still do about 10 Miles for every one of them. The standard tank will need modifying if you can't get the last Litre in, get a bottle of your favourite tipple and do a Search on here. Prepare for lots of reading :thumb

The reserve/fuel warning lights vary tremendously, sometimes they come on at two bars, sometimes not until the last bar goes out, you'll need to run it dry to see how yours is set up.

That sounds about right. Mine is a standard GS and the reserve light usually comes on between 180 and 200 miles at which point it usually takes about 18L. This normally coincides with the last bar disappearing off the gauge. I would suggest working off the trip though, if that bulb in the reserve light blows the first you'll know about it is when the fuel runs out!

I have had 45 miles, once the reserve lamp has lit, if it does run out, lean the bike right over to the right, and youl get a litre or so , of fuel, not sure this works on the 30 litre tank though :rob
