Well after getting the new fuel strip from Motorworks yesterday i thought it would be an easy'ish fix. So stripped tank down, calibrated the new strip with my 911 and calibration went fine.

Assembled it all back together (before putting all the tupperware back on) and tried it. Nope, fuel light flashing. Took strip back out and calibrated it again, all went well. Same error :(
So feck it tomorrow job!

I did this again twice this morning same result. Same error.

So after a few cups of coffee and starting to think i'd been sent a dodgy strip, i had a slap across the face moment. There wasn't enough fuel in the tank to register on the strip:blast
Off to garage got fuel, fuel in tank and alls fine.

So if anyone has the misfortune of needing the strip replacing please make sure you have around at least half a tank of fuel in it :)

I also bought a new fuel strip from Motorworks after 5 years of no read out. Replaced the strip today and calibrated using my new 911 with the strip dry and the tank empty. Fuel gauge read empty on tank after I added petrol which surprised (and disappointed) me. Went for a short ride, came back and tried recalibrating - it works! I have two bars of fuel! But, unfortunately the alternator casing is cracked - I thought it might be!
