Hello Friends, Can I pick your brains? I have recently removed the whole petrol cap assembly in order to check for any rust beneath. I found some, removed it, and painted the well with primer. Whilst there I tried to blow down both the hoses to ensure there is no blockage. One is clear but the other seems clogged solid. Should they both be clear, or is one of the tubes meant to be "blocked", perhaps connected to something, before exiting on the right hand side? Any help or guidance would be helpful. Incidentally, I fitted an "abdeckring" from an S1000RR in an attempt to reduce any further water going down into the well. Many thanks. RobA.

Both should be clear and vent to atmosphere (unless you have a US spec bike with a charcoal canister). One is a vent and one a water trap...

WATER trap

my 2004 1150 used to collect water in the rim of the tank
i took the mechanism off and found the pipe was blocked possibly from new i was unable to clear it and bought a second hand unit from motorworks
best advice take it off and check the metal pipes the used one i bought was superb and cured the problem there is a thread about the problem somewhere on her with pictures :beerjug:
