I removed the rubber thingy in the tank to aid filling and get a bit more fuel in the tank. Off I go down to the garage with 45 miles range on the puter. There I am filling up minding my own business as the pump ticks past 30, 31, 32, 33 litres and finally stopped just short of 34.... Given the fuel left in the tank, I reckon that gives me a theoretical 38 litre fuel tank........

Hey, I`m not complaining but it did kind of hurt the visa card when it cost nearly as much as filling the car up!

With something like 40 kilos on top of the bike.. it would probably hurt to pick it up as well! :P

My boring response

I may have mentioned this before, but I'm wary of the calibration of fuel pumps, along with all weights and measures. The only time i notice it for sure is when I go to fill a container for the (petrol) lawnmower, and how sometimes the 'cheaper' petrol stations somehow end up costing more to fill up than the supermarket stations (same container).:rob

A couple of percent difference will soon overcome the fact that one station is 2p per litre cheaper than another. It's hard to be sure, there are plenty of cowboys in that business, especially over here.:gringo

Patrick.

on the supemoto i can get as low as 40 miles until reserve then it's 40-50 mph on very little throttle to find the nearest petrol station.

this is mine.

I fill up when the thing shows no blocks on the clock. the last one took 34.6ltrs which get me about 360miles. i've added a bit to the tank capacity by doing the filler mod but I recon i'm averaging 47mpg which considering i'm sitting between 60-80 all the way to work with lots of rolling on and off the gas ain't that bad in my book. I do think on a good steady motorway run she'd do close on 400 to a tank full. Recon my arse would give up before the fuel did.:o
