It says in the 1150gs manual that the fuel warning light goes on when there are 2 bars left on the fuel gauge.

Mine never went on at 2 bars, one bar or even no bars so I assumed it wasnt working until this weekend when I was running if very low and it went on about 10 miles after the guage was at no bars.

Are the gauge and light linked or are they seperate sensors and when am I really low ?

On my 1150 it used to come on at no bars left ,the 1200 comes on at various time 2 to no bars ,the count down computer is pretty good though I put 33 litres in it the otherday at zero miles left

It comes on when the fuel has got down to about 4 litres. The light seems to be fairly accurate, the fuel gauge however isn't and on mine reads anywhere from 2 to 0 bars when the light comes on, but there always seems to be around 4L left :nenau

Mine comes on when the last bar has disappeared and the most I have ridden on reserve is about 35 miles before filling up. I think even then I only got in just over 22litres.
