went for a test ride on a 1150gs adv but realised it is a big beast and although a great ride, i was on my tiptoes and really did'nt feel at ease. I mean i'm not a wimp,everytime i stopped had to be plan for cambers etc and i tried it on the side stand and struggled to move it off the stand at times. Anyway i decided it was not for me and going back to the dealers to try a 1200GS. I sat on it and it was so much lighter, so just a test ride now and see how it goes. He said he would knock 300 quid off the price, and it has all the main bits abs heated grips top box etc, so i'll get it for 7k on a 2004 plate, approc 28k miles.

You can get one for same money but one year younger and half the mileage!

yes it looks a great bike trouble is I have a 05 VFR to sell at the same time and they (BMW) will PX. I need that to make up the price unless I can seel private

ABS or not ABS that is the question

Being a complete numpty regarding ABS im veiwing a few GSAs next few days any pointers for me , do i go for ABS servo or not ?that is the question

yes you have given me food for thought about going back to the BMW place, maybe not such a good deal after all. I think i might try and sell my VFR and then reconsider with the cash

7k for a bike thats done 28k does appear a bit minty.......a few years ago the same age/spec bike would of demanded that price from a dealer but 12GS's are now so common that I think a better bike is to be had.

Check "for sale section" on this site/MCN.......more hassle, but a far younger bike for your cash
