Fuse box mod

Just bought my first GS1150 and under the seat in the fuse box section there is a wire bridging two parts of what looks like where a relay should sit?
The wire is not actually plugged in on both ends at the moment and the bike runs fine?
Any suggestions what this could be I assumed either a makeshift immobiliser or a bypass for a future ABS fault!

Sounds like it's an attempt at the 'Steptoe' mod.

Do a search, it should turn up, quite some time ago though...
