Hooning up the M3 yesterday I was wondering whether there was anything I could do about the only complaint I have with my bike - mirrors that vibrate and give a fuzzy image?

The facts :- late 1100, engine in good tune and feels smooth, bar end still in place (left) and weighted throttle control on right, standard bars.

Any ideas???

Throttle bodies

Yep, even when leaving St Eptoe's House of Oilheads (when the bodies must be as close to being correct as I'll ever get them), it fuzzes just the same.

:bounce1 My right hand one tends to vibrate a little at around 70mph but goes away at 80mph. I just put it down to me riding too slow.:thumb
The stupid suggestions to cure this are endless :o

Change the resonance of the mirror.

If you have an old mirror you might give this a try (got one but haven't had the time yet to give it a try), drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic housing, inject some epoxy glue and insert some lead shot. Keep the glue away from the pivot.

I was thinking along those lines. Perhaps wheel weights stuck to the mirror shaft??

Aha!!

I half remembered something like this from an old Triumph riding mate (although I think that world lead supplies dried up before he could get enough to stop the 'umph shaking its mirrors)..!

Thanks I'll experiment.
