As above, as this is looking like my winter bike, are there any years to avoid?:nenau

Wot GM said, they are all rubbish.
Poorly made, uncomfortable, unrefined, uneconomical, heavy and in the wrong hands, slow.

Better buying the x moto version :D

And there just happens to be one for sale in the for sale section:beerjug:

I am loving the 2007 I bought for my wife:thumby:

Great fuel consumption, brilliant bike for overtaking in places I wouldn't normally consider and surprisingly brisk in the twisties.

Is the 450 out of your price range ? Big issues if you snap your gear shift lever, I heard.

As, is on any bike:rolleyes:

Just fit a steel lever from a F650 GS or Dakar, job done

Put the worry beads away then:D

Nutty wants a 60/40 dual sport which is maybe a tad more road orientated and has 6000 service intervals

The G450X is too competition based, with short service intervals and in reality wasn't a great bike anyway:eek:

This is the one you want, Nutty;)

450 is a bit too extreme, at this stage.:rob

Funny you say that, I was talking to a chap that had both the 450x and 650xch he found the 450 not much better off road and worse on!

Anyhoo Nutty is this a joke question or am I misinformed?

Can I assume your 50 odd and slightly porky? Seems to be a prerequisite for the Xcountry lately :)

We all know the Xchallenge is the best duel sport BMW (if you love chucking money into a bottomless pit modifying it)

P.S the country headlight looks gay......

I'm quite the opposite.:rob:D You've got me worried about my 'image' now.:comfort

FWIW the later XCountry's had a steel rear subframe, as opposed to the alluminium one as shown in JB's pictures. Not a massive difference, but supposedly more robust.

Is that why you want a 'gay' Xcountry mudguard then Ian ? :D

I wasn't thinking of you, but if the cap fits....

Potentially adding a lower mudguard to the Xchall is purely practical and says nothing of my manliness :) anyhoo its the headlight that lets the Xco down IMO (cosmetically)
