It says on the HUBB link that the update involves a new cover, I wonder if the updated cover has a bigger boss allowing a bigger seal to be fitted? That's not solving your problem though......

Looks to me you've been given the wrong seal, there's no way the new one's O/D is right for that housing

found my gearbox very notchy more so than old dakar i had

just got new cable as old one was stetched after 8k km from last owner and had to have it pulled all way in before would start to work

The F650 and G650 are very sensitive to correct cable adjustment

You have to adjust the cable freeplay, when it's good and hot after al least 20 mins of riding

If you stop and adjust the cable freeplay properly, on a hot engine then most of the clutch/gear engagement issues will be fine (assuming there are no broken clutch parts)

At cold, the bike will have zero free play and this seems to be the correct procedure from my experience

I have the new upgraded cover and all seems ok - I did this as a precaution and not because I had any problems
