That Outdoor Revolution stuff comes up on facebook all the time, what's it like?

I've really enjoyed all your blogs, this one included. Love the upgraded hotel ploy!

Loving the updates Simon..
Fanks so much for taking the time to post them..

As I've said b4, in some ways we get to do the trip with you..

:clap :clap :clap

Cheers guys and lovely to hear from you all (I know you have been there but still...).

All I know about the Outdoor Revolution stuff is it was half-price .... important in a country as expensive as Israel

As threatened, here is a tourist’s view of Jerusalem, starting with the Western Wall

As the last photo shows there is always lots of surveillance!

Or rather, first! Tapatalk seems to have started reversing the order of photos

Superb.. and always lovely to see some travel pics.. it can't aĺl be about aluminium luggage, auxiliary lights and the size of ones appendage!

So today it was time to move on from Jerusalem and I took the Route 1 towards Tel Aviv then route 6 north to the historic port city of Acre which is crammed with history including Crusaders - brings me back to when I stood on the battlements of Sal’hudn’s castle near Tartus in N Syria, just up the coast from here

The ride itself was a boring motorway. It advertises itself as a toll road and at each exit it says ‘your receipt will be mailed to you’. But although my U.K. plate is the same colour as an Israeli plate I think they will struggle to bill me and there are no toll plazas to pay at.

+1 ... but you missed out tyres, MPG and ACF50 though :-)

Thanks for taking us along with you Simon

So Tricuspid:

The tyres are bearing up although very square now after so much tarmac.

No rain and so the thought of ACF50 hasn't even entered my mind.

And I have forgotten the third thing you mentioned

Lot of fish here in the market, though!

My host in Acre was a Christian Arab call Nzar Khoury. I mentioned to him that I had avoided the West Bank and he challenged me on this, saying it was only problematic when the Istaeli defence force were in some sort of manoeuvre or mission.

His house had an interesting history which you will see from his personal story which I have copied below.

The house had a lovely terrace and at sunset thousands of birds would arrive and bed down on every ledge in sight (poor photos so look carefully!(

I also had a companion in my bedroom who fortunately did not snore

Here is Nzar's story. I was particularly struck by how they acquired the house as I had read a pamphlet in Jerusalem describing individual Arab families, one of whom had been displaced from Acre!
