Gael warning on the Pamir Highway

Another great read Simon.

Might even inspire me to get off my backside and do one of the many big trips I keep daydreaming about.

BTW, I think you deserve a medal for not abandoning and/or poisoning your travelling companion :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As a little postscript, where else would two such reprobates as Gary and me meet but in Esquel, Patagonia last night. But this time he is headed north from Ushuaia on his Africa Twin and I am going south with my wife along Ruta 40 in a 4WD.

Unplanned 😁.IMG_8386.jpeg

It’s crazy when things like that happen! Makes you think there must be a god :thumby:

What a fab write up Simon👍 i thoroughly enjoyed it🤩 brought back some great memories. You stayed in many of the same places we did. Your trip from khorog - murghab - sary tash - through Kyrgystan was the same route we took only the opposite way, and we didn't head east towards the China border at all🙈 but your experiences of the wonderful people in these very beautiful countries was just like ours❤️ the charyn canyon is absolutely worth a visit if you're ever back that direction😁 Stas Zhukov stored our bikes for 2 years (covid delayed us) and he was super helpful getting us through the border to Uzbekistan after overstaying our tip by over a year🙈 I'm fairly sure he offers bike hire too🤔 well, he did in 2019. Thank you for the trip down memory lane👍🥰

Thanks @Mide for taking the time to read through all that.

And I can't believe I am contemplating a 4-5 day Scottish rideout with the abovementioned Gary later this week...what could possibly go wrong? :DD
