Hi
I have recently fitted some of Vern's excellent seat risers - not only is the bike more comfortable, but it's better to ride from a higher position.
The trouble is, there is now a gap btw the seat and the tank: 2 - 3 inches -and I'm worried about water getting in to where the battery is.
Has anybody encontered this before and come up with a mod.
Cheers

What are these seat risers of which you speak and where can one purchase said items?

Bought them from Vern - see further down this mods section, post titled - seat risers

Personally I hate this gap between seat and tank and ended up putting washers under the framework on the bottom of the seatpan and under the rear rack mounting bolts to raise or lower them correspondingly by trial and error on my '99 1100. It did the trick and looks great with a bit of pipe lagging filling the space between rear of seat and rear rack casting with only the single seat on. However I believe this caused increased wear on the seat lock mechanism leading to failure while paddling backwards in deep sand and subsequent reinforcement with alloy pieces. You have been warned.....

Visquine

My autocomm is right under the back edge of the tank and would have taken a shower but for tailoring a piece of black visquine to go under the rear edge of the tank, back to the seat mounts and folded down the sides for drainage, I have evlcroed the simple sheet in place making everything below waterproof and its invisible with the normal seats on and just visible with the tt single. Cheaper than a new autocomm and alarm unit, ps I do have the tt side panels though!
KISS keep it stupidly simple!
