I am looking for the best idea on how to mount my 2610 GPS to my 1200gs, any help or photos would be appreciated.

I used a RAM-B-108 attached to the bars, in between the handlebar clamps. Keeps everything central and well balanced. IMHO looks better than most variations.

This is the best solution for me, a Motorrad Concepts short mount plus a RAM Mount.

Not the best pic but gives you an idea, RAM universal mount attached to the bar above the instruments.
Thats a Laminar lip screen attached to the OE screen if anyones wondering

So it is. I've had some correspondence with them and am planning on picking one up from the factory in California this coming July.

How effective is it?

It`s not too bad, it doesn`t remove the wind noise but reduces it a lot. I found it works very well in conjuction with Tobinators as I can have the screen on the highest setting at the rear & angle it more from the front.

If I were you Schtum I`d just order one from the US now as it only takes a week or so to arrive & you`d have 3 months use out of it! :thumb

Hmmm.... $70 in the US. How much here? Since you're in Cumbria how would you feel about swapping screens with me and letting me try it briefly at some point? If so, whereabouts are you?

I think mine worked out at about £60 with all the shipping etc.

I`m planning a weekend away with the family up in Mull on about the 21st of May so I could drop it off for you to try fo a couple of days & pick it up on the way back home. I`ll leave the Tobinators on so you can try it with both the standard mounting points & those.

pm me nearer the time with some contact details to remind me cos I`ll forget!

It looks nice BUT:
When looking at a mount with this design, first make sure that it is strong enough to hold the GPS (most are).
Second: Make sure that it is weak enough to bend nicely out of the way in case of an accident (yes, in the case of aluminum mounts like this i DO mean bend, not break!).

I have seen some pictures of similar contraptions that seems more designed to rip out the guts of the unfortunate driver in case of flying over the handlebars.
One example could be this rather ugly thing that looks like something that should be mounted to a fire truck instead of a bike:

If somebody rolled in a bike with this thing to a Swedish vehicle inspection station he would certainly be walking home! :P

I use a RAM mount, with the "bike mounted ball" attached to the plastic fairing. It will hopefully break off easily if I ever would need to go through it.
