Garmin 2610 Question

I have been looking on the sale board and have seen Garmin 2610's on sale for approx £200.

for £99 inc vat.
I can get a mount for approx £30 ish, and apparently Garmin will upgrade this software to ver.9

Am I missing something or are people out of touch with the cost of things and asking for too much for their second hand units ?
Would I need to buy anything else to be able to effectively use this unit to tour Europe out of the box ?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

If GPSW had any of them you'd be on to a winner but they don't.

I sold my 2610 with v9, bike mount and power for £200 posted and I could have sold it 4 times over. That wasn't more than 3 months ago and the products out there then are the same now.

Mounting kit is there for about £40.
Looks as though they are in stock ?
Presumably this is an amazing deal then ?
It says version 7, but presume you can get this upgraded.

I also found a 2620 here for £114 inc VAT.

The 2620 uses a micro hard drive which can be trashed by bike vibrations/road shocks in fairly short order. They were introduced when the cost of compact flash memory was high, now that you can get a 2GB CF card for a few quid the 2610 is the way to go.

Right OK. Another quick question.
I basically want to get a cheap GPS unit to take on the bike (not bothered if it is waterproof etc, as I will stick it in my tank bag pocket when I need to use it.)
But I want to be able to plot my journey on the PCand load into my GPSdevice prior to going.
What are my options ?
Only Garmin(2610 or Zumo) ?
Is their an equivalent to mapsource to do this with other manufacturers or 3rd party software which will allow me to do this. I don't really want to spend over £150-£200 if I can help it.

You really nead Mapsource to plan routes successfully - so, if your budget is limited to £200 - you should try to get a 2610.

Beanbag Mount
V7 installed with unlock codes
2008(v10) disc on its way when garmin send it, i have the unlock codes for this.
Covers europe and you can overlay POI's
Oh and its boxed.
