I have a Nuvi 765t which works, as far as I can tell, very much like a Zumo (less routes in menu and not waterproof, can't see any other differences). All dandy apart from Bluetooth to the phone.

I'm using an Autocom dongle, not the new A2DP one but the #1273 version. This connects to the Garmin and directions and MP3 come though fine. The phone will simultaneously connect to the Nuvi and I can dial using the on-screen keypad and initiate a call which connects. However, there's no audio both heard in my helmet or heard by the receiving party.

Is this a limitation where a Bluetooth connected headset can't speak to a Bluetooth connected phone. Maybe the Zumo has this 'bridge' and the Nuvi lacks it...

Any guidance gratefully received.

Hi Bumpkin,

I did not think that the 765 had 2 BT "stacks" (1 for headset/dongle + 1 for phone), so I am suprised that you got as far as pairing both phone and dongle simulataneously.
I may well be wrong, so do check.

If you pair the 765 to the phone, run a lead from the audio jack to the Autocom and get someone to call you - can you then hear them?

HTH,

John

Thanks for the reply John.

What Garmin say on the matter.

If I plug in earphones to the Nuvi and initiate a call I don't get a ringing tone but as soon as the other party picks up I can hear them.

Maybe I can only get this to work fully with the wired option, there are the same sockets as the Zumo; 3.5mm stereo audio out and a 2.5mm mono mic socket.

Having the phone isn't a 'must have' to be honest but it would still be nice if I could get it work via Bluetooth as having to unplug the leads from the Nuvi each time would be a pain plus I'd have to spend another £45.
