Can anyone explain the difference between City Navigator V9 and City Navigator NT V9. I have just purchased a used Street Pilot 2610 with both discs and codes

NT uses a different compression standard and is only suitable for newer Garmin GPS units which do text to speech, ie the 2720 onwards Streetpilots and the Zumo and Nuvi ranges. It's not compatible with your 2610.

Hi.

CN NT supports full UK post code search on a GPS that can use it. The 2610 AFAIK uses the non NT.

But, you can put both on the PC and then be able to do full post code search. Another but, I think you may get some routing errors if you try and send a route produced in NT to a non NT GPS.

Hope this helps :)

What John said...I have a Quest 1 which doesn't support Full Post Code searches but it's very handy to have the NT version on the PC so you can do Post Code searches and then transfer the locations/ waypoints to the unit (but not the routes which will confuse your device).

Thanks for the replies, just bought the 2610 for the bike, it had both versions of mapping with it and wasn't sure which one to load onto the unit.
