Looking at one of these for the Mrs in the car, and new to GPS units, can you add the Europe maps for this little GPS, and will it need an additional memory stick to do this?
Also if I was to put it on to the bike, does it have audio out so can plug to the autocom?

!?

Not sure about the maps, think you buy different cards, but dont quote me.

There is no audio output, however you could connect a flying lead to the speaker with a 3.5 audio socket. (bits available at maplins) Just modded one a few days ago. Bit fiddly, invalidates warranty

If you check Garmin's site you can buy Europe maps, but they are a bit expensive, something like £70+ for France, preloaded on another Transflash card. If you definitely want to use it in Europe, then the Quest is probably the next cheapest one to go for.

You can add Europe maps onto a second transflash card (cheap). Ideally, if you have another Garmin with a spare unlock, then the mapping would be free. If not, then Garmin sell each country's mapping but I think it's more than £70.

A second option would, perhaps, be to buy a second-hand SPIII (even a broken one), with all the codes, unlock numbers & original CDs. You could then upgrade for around £50, and use the second unlock for the i3. I doubt that Garmin would be too happy, but it would work, and wouldn't be illegal.

I thought the flash card was internal and sealed :nenau
It's not.
Download maps onto a different transflash card using Mapsource via USB, having used a second unlock code.
